MCCEI Maryland Construction Day 2025

MoCo CAP accompanied several MCPS students to the Maryland Center for Construction Education and Innovation (MCCEI)’s 4th annual Maryland Construction Career Day. More than 35 companies and 100+ volunteers showcased career exploration opportunities in the construction industry through hands-on exhibits and resources. Over 800 students attended, gaining exposure to non-traditional educational pathways.
Worlds of Work (WoW) 2025
Montgomery College Rockville Campus, March 2025
WorkSource Montgomery (WSM), Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), and Montgomery College (MC) hosted ~2,500 eighth-grade students at the inaugural MoCo CAP Worlds of Work (WoW) experience. Over three days, students engaged directly with more than 175 employers and businesses representing six “worlds” across MC Rockville’s campus, gaining first-hand insights into a wide range of industries.
Meet A Pro 6th Grade Industry Panel
Rocky Hill Middle School, 2025
MoCo CAP hosted its first industry engagement panel for 6th-grade students, moderated by two Rocky Hill students and built around questions submitted by MCPS middle schoolers countywide. Panelists included Sydney Pinkard (Future Employee Initiatives Coordinator, MCPS), Jamie Carmen (President, Atlantic Coastal Cooling & Heating), Vickie Dols (President/Owner, M.R. Electricians), and Dr. Subbu Krishnan (Chief Science Strategist, Henry M. Jackson Foundation).
