Meet A Pro

Join the growing list of professionals that have volunteered to serve as virtual or live “Meet A Pro” expert. A minimum of 30 minutes is all it takes to tell your career story, whether it is a linear journey or hopping around trying very different jobs until you found the right fit. All of it is information kids need to hear and how it is told is up to you. You may focus on your current position and how you got there or talk about multiple positions.

With your permission, we record these sessions and after editing, they appear on the MoCo CAP YouTube channel for students, teachers, parents, and community members to view.

You may choose to be in front of a live audience (small or large group), serve on a panel of professionals and answer questions from the students, speak at a school Career Day, or participate virtually from your place of business or even your home. 

Inspire students by discussing such topics as:

• What does a typical day on the job look like for you?
• How did you become interested in your field of study?
• What inspired you to choose this career?
• What skills or education are necessary to do well in your job?
• How has technology impacted your job and industry?
• What advice do you have for someone who may be interested in pursuing a career in this field?
• What do you find most rewarding about your job?
• What challenges do you regularly face?

You can be added to a list to be called upon when students express an interest in your area or be interviewed straightaway.
