The inaugural Montgomery County event of the nationally recognized Worlds of Work (WoW) is set to revolutionize career discovery for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students.
When: March 17, 18, and 20, 2025
Where: Montgomery College Rockville Campus
Who Will Attend: MCPS 8th grade students
What: WoW is an innovative, no-cost pilot career exploration event that brings together students, educators, and employers. Designed to bridge the critical gap between academic learning and real-world career opportunities, students will have the unique chance to:
• Engage with industry experts.
• Explore diverse career paths.
• Participate in hands-on demonstrations.
• Learn about in-demand skills and emerging industries.
Why: As part of the College and Career Readiness pillar of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, this event aims to help students understand the connection between education and occupations like never before. By exposing students to various professional worlds, we are helping to nurture local talent and prepare the next generation for success.
How: Students will engage in interactive experiences across multiple industry sectors, learning directly from employers and professionals who are passionate about sharing their journeys.
